The first graders had a fun, educational day at the YMCA learning about Swim Safety! They had small group instruction in the pool for the first half and learned things like floating on their back, going in feet first, etc. The second half they were split into 3 groups. One was with a YMCA instructor learning about lifejacket safety and then they did lifejacket relay races. Another group was with a YMCA instructor learning about lifeguard duties. The third group was about boat safety where they went outside and looked/got on an actual boat
